'Arisen' was a British naval operation by warships of Admiral Sir Andrew Cunningham’s Mediterranean Fleet to deliver supplies to Mersa Matruh on the north-west coast of Egypt for the support of the British ground forces otherwise constrained by the limited nature of their overland lines of communication (1941).
