'Assassin' (ii) was a British partially completed and unsuccessful deception operation, related to 'Spanner', to discredit the Icelandic consul in the Spanish port city of Vigo, who had recruited agents for Germany, by suggesting that he had betrayed the recruited agents to British intelligence (July 1942).
