Operation BHX

'BHX' was the designation of Allied convoys (together with a numerical suffix) plying the route from Bermuda to join HX convoys from North American ports to Liverpool (May 1940/July 1941).

The first of the 82 such convoys was BHX.41 of 7/13 May 1940 with 26 merchant vessels and two escorts including the 14,164-ton British armed merchant cruiser Jervis Bay. The last was BHX.137 of 4/10 July 1941 with 16 merchant vessels and two escorts including the 10,552-ton British armed merchant cruiser Cheshire.
