Operation Brunhild
(German mythological heroine)'Brunhild' was the German unrealised plan for the evacuation of the Kuban bridgehead in the Caucasus region of the southern USSR by Generaloberst Erwin Jaenecke’s 17th Army (9/12 September 1943).
The undertaking was on realised on 12 September, by which time it had been redesignated as the 'Krimhilde-Bewegung'.
