Operation Cedric

'Cedric' was an Allied special forces operation to parachute a three-man French and US 'Jedburgh' team into the Doubs of German-occupied France to aid local resistance forces in blocking road and rail lines of communication in the area between Besançon and Belfort, and thereby hampering the ability of General Friedrich Wiese’s 19th Army to move to the north (28 August 1944).
