Operation Charlton

'Charlton' was a British unrealised naval aerial minelaying operation in the Lepsøyrev, Harmsfjord, Skatestrommen and Årumsund areas of German-occupied Norway (22/25 January 1945).

The operation was entrusted to the escort carriers Campania, Premier and Trumpeter, the light anti-aircraft cruiser Dido, and the destroyers Onslaught, Onslow, Opportune, Orwell, Zealous and Zest of the 17th Destroyer Flotilla, but had to be cancelled as a result of adverse weather.
