Operation CL (i)

'CL' (i) was a British naval sweep toward Texel in the neutral Netherlands with the object of locating and either capturing or sinking German coastal shipping (21 September 1939).

The ships involved were the light cruiser Cairo and the destroyers Beagle, Blanche, Boadicea and Codrington. After failing to find any German ships, the British force was diverted to cover the FN.9 convoy.
