Operation Cottbus (iv)

(German town)

'Cottbus' (iv) was a German operation against 'partisans' and other 'undesirable elements' operating against the lines of communication essential to Generalfeldmarschall Günther von Kluge’s Heeresgruppe 'Mitte' in the German-occupied western USSR (15/27 July 1943).

The operation was undertaken by SS police 'anti-bandit' units.
