Operation Crackers

'Crackers' was a British special forces raid against Tungodden in the Sognefjord area of German-occupied Norway by 16 men of Nos 10, 12 and 30 Commandos (24 February/1 March 1943).

The original object of the operation was to attack an observation post and reconnoitre another, in the process capturing German soldiers for interrogation back in the UK, but when rough seas prevented this, the force took an observation post and held it for a week without being detected, and in this time gathered some information.
