Operation Defraud (ii)

'Defraud' (ii) was a British naval decoy undertaking, in association with 'Conrad', on the Japanese-occupied Nicobar islands group in the divide between Bay of Bengal and the Indian Ocean by the submarine Thrasher (April 1945).

The undertaking took the form of a bogus beach reconnaissance designed to suggest to the Japanese that the British were intending to launch an amphibious assault.
