'Discretion' was a British unrealised plan for the powerful anti-aircraft defence of Haifa in Palestine should it become necessary for Admiral Sir Andrew Cunningham’s Mediterranean Fleet to move to Haifa from Alexandria on the northern coast of Egypt following any decisive Axis eastward breakthrough in the Western Desert (1941/42).
