'Grün' (v) was the German operational study for the withdrawal of General Martin Grase’s (from 1 January 1944 General Carl Hilpert’s) I Corps and General Kurt Brennecke’s XLIII Corps, both of General Christian Hansen’s 16th Army in Generalfeldmarschall Georg von Küchler’s Heeresgruppe 'Nord', from exposed positions to the west and north-east of Nevel Polotsk (30 December 1943/5 January 1944).
