Operation IE3

'IE3' was a British unrealised naval minelaying operation in the Heligoland Bight (17 January 1940).

The minelaying destroyers Intrepid and Ivanhoe entered the Humber estuary after their 'EW', 'ID1' and 'ID2' mining operations in the North Sea, but 'IE3', which had been scheduled for 17 January, was cancelled and the destroyers proceeded to Rosyth.
