Operation JM (i)

'JM' (i) was the designation of Allied convoys (together with a numerical suffix) plying the route from India via Kilindini, Kenya, to Madagascar (May 1943/June 1944).

The two convoys of the series were JM.1 of 7/18 May 1943 with the 22,281-ton British Strathaird and 23,428-ton British Strathmore carrying 1,561 and 1,293 troops respectively for onward passage to Durban, South Africa, and JM.2 of 13/20 June 1944 with the 14,134-ton Dutch Boissevain and 20,022-ton British Duchess of Richmond.
