Operation KD

'KD' was the designation of Allied convoys (together with a numerical and sometimes a literal suffix) plying the route from Kilindini to Durban, and as such reciprocals of the 'DK' series (October 1940/March 1945).

The first of the series was KD.1 of 6/11 October 1940 with the 11,951-ton British Llangibby Castle and 11,348-ton British Llanstephan Castle, and the last was KC.7 of 3/12 March 1945 with the 5,119-ton British Botlea and 2,640-ton British Herisle.
