Operation LC

'LC' was the designation of Allied convoys (together with a numerical and sometimes a literal suffix) plying the route from Sydney, Nova Scotia to St John’s, Newfoundland, and as such reciprocals of the 'CL' series (March 1942/June 1943).

The first of the series was the LC.1 convoy of 26/28 March 1942 with only the 3,489-ton British Fort Amherst, and the last was LC.57B of 4/6 June 1943 with only the 4,862-ton British Southgate.
