'LE' was the designation of Allied convoys (together with a numerical suffix) plying the 'Levant East' route between Port Said or Alexandria in Egypt, via Famagusta in Cyprus, to Haifa in Palestine or Beirut in Lebanon, and as such reciprocals of the 'LW' series (July 1941 onward).
