'Oldenburg' (i) was a German programme of clandestine long-range and high-altitude aerial reconnaissance sorties to locate the primary Soviet road and railway lines, industrial complexes, sources of natural resources, frontier defences and military bases in preparation for 'Barbarossa' (January 1940/summer 1941).
