Operation Paradise

'Paradise' was a British five-element amphibious deception involving the installation of dummy lighting on unused parts of the 'Overlord' assault area to decoy any German bombers which might try to deliver night attacks (7 June 1944 onward).

The areas involved were dummy exits to the east of Asnelles sur Mer in 'Paradise One', a dummy beach exit near Langrun in 'Paradise Two', a dummy landing beach between Arromanches and Port en Bessin in 'Paradise Three', a dummy landing beach between the mouths of the Orne and Dives rivers in 'Paradise Four', and dummy bridges near the real bridges at Bénouville and Ranville in 'Paradise Five'.
