Operation PV

'PV' was the designation of Allied convoys (together with a numerical suffix) plying the route from Melbourne to Townsville, Australia (September/October 1943).

The first of these convoys was PV.1 of 19/27 September with three US merchant vessels in the form of the 7,194-ton Adoniram Judson, 7,176-ton Rachel Jackson and 7,176-ton Simon Benson, and the last was PV.4 of 10/17 October with three 7,176-ton US merchant vessels in the form of Charles P. Steinmetz, Francis G. Newlands and John Carroll.
