'Roscor' was a British radio deception operation by Colonel Peter Fleming’s 'D' Division designed to dissuade the Japanese from attempting any naval sortie into the Bay of Bengal by suggesting that the warship and carrierborne air strength of Admiral Sir James Somerville’s Eastern Fleet was greater than in fact it was (November 1943/January 1944).
