Operation Sampler

'Sampler' was a British unrealised naval undertaking to locate and sink German shipping in the Leads between Sildegabet and Bradsmund just off the west coast of German-occupied Norway (1/5 January 1945).

The ships involved were the escort carriers Nairana and Trumpeter, the heavy cruiser Berwick and the destroyers Carron, Obedient, Onslaught, Orwell, Zealous and Zest.

The operation was abandoned because of adverse weather.
