Operation Splendid

'Splendid' was a British double operation, including 'Renown' and 'Rodney', carried out by the Secret Intelligence Service, otherwise MI.6, off German-occupied Yugoslavia (23 November/21 December 1943).

The first iteration of the operation ('Splendid I') was an attempt, foiled by adverse weather, to land two agents on 23 November 1943, Seastar then evacuating partisans from Dugi (Isola Lunga) in the Adriatic Sea off Dalmatia. The second attempt ('Splendid II') on 21 December was successful.
