Operation Tiger (iv)

'Tiger' (iv) was a British military exercise in the UK (May 1942).

On being appointed to head the South-Eastern Command, Lieutenant General B. L. Montgomery planned and then supervised the largest military exercise to date in the UK, this involving some 100,000 men. The exercise was particularly gruelling for the infantry involved, who marched more than 100 miles (160 km).
