'West' (i) was the German directive fixing the task of Generaloberst Wilhelm Ritter von Leeb’s Heeresgruppe 'C' in the first stage of the forthcoming World War II as the defence of Germany’s western border between Papenburg near the North Sea coast and Lake Constance on the German/Swiss frontier (18 January 1939/spring 1940).
