Operation WO

'WO' was the designation of Allied troopship convoys (together with a numerical and sometimes a literal suffix) plying the route from India or Ceylon to Australia (January/July 1945).

The first of these 12 convoys was WO.1 of 30 January/12 February with two US 11,450-ton commissioned transports in the form of General G. M. Randall and General William Mitchell. The last was WO.8 of 15/27 July with the 9,943-ton US commissioned transport General H. B. Freeman.
