Operation Wyvern

'Wyvern' was a British unrealised plan by General Sir Bernard Montgomery’s Allied 21st Army Group for an attack by Lieutenant General B. G. Horrocks’s XXX Corps of Lieutenant General Sir Miles Dempsey’s 2nd Army as the first stage of an offensive between the lines of the Meuse/Maas and Rhine rivers (autumn 1944).

The offensive was in fact undertaken in February and March 1945 as 'Veritable' by formations of General H. D. G. Crerar’s Canadian 1st Army.
