'Acquisition' was the British occupation of the area containing the Anglo-Persian Oil Company’s facilities at Abadan at the extreme north of Iran’s Persian Gulf coast in the period leading up to the British and Soviet 'Countenance' occupation of the whole of Iran (23 July 1941).
