Operation Bora

(Adriatic and Yugoslav north-east wind)

'Bora' was a German and Croat operation against the partisan forces of Marshal Josip Broz Tito in the puppet state of Croatia in German-occupied Yugoslavia (28 March 1944).

The leading part in this undertaking was taken by a Kampfgruppe of Generalmajor Alexander von Pfuhlstein''s Panzergrenadierdivision 'Brandenburg' with the support of Croat Ustase forces and Serb Četnik elements. The operation took the form of a costly battle for Hill 214 near Ceranje and another line of Dalmatian hills.
