'Cadboll' (i) was a British deception operation within the larger 'Fortitude North' (1944).
The undertaking was designed to create a false order of battle for overseas operations, and for the concentration of Major General T. G. Rennie’s 3rd Division and Major General E. Hakewill-Smith’s 52nd Division in the Clyde river valley in preparation for their embarkation for overseas service.
The operation was later cancelled and succeeded by 'Cadboll II'.
