Operation Carnival

'Carnival' was a British troopship convoy from the Clyde river to Gibraltar (29 January/4 February 1942).

The convoy comprised the 14,287-ton Polish Batory, 16,792-ton British California as the armed merchant cruiser escort, and 11,030-ton Polish Sobieski. The last was held at Gibraltar for a time for use in a possible invasion of the Azores islands group.
