'Eifel' was a German pair of intelligence undertakings ('Eifel I' and 'Eifel II') by the Abwehr’s Abteilung III counter-intelligence and counter-espionage department to intercept and read encrypted radio messages generated within the higher levels of the Soviet leadership (1942/43).
