Operation Gideon (iii)

'Gideon' (iii) was a British naval shore bombardment of Dieppe on the north coast of German-occupied France (25/26 July 1941).

The undertaking involved the escort destroyers Cattistock, Mendip and Quorn, which departed Portsmouth on 25 July but were able to undertake only the first part of their task as the weather turned bad and the three ships returned to port.
