'Grosse Lösung' was a German unrealised plan ordered by Adolf Hitler in an effort to save Generaloberst Friedrich Paulus’s 6th Army, trapped at Stalingrad, by the use of major mobile forces drawn from Generalfeldmarschall Erich von Manstein’s Heeresgruppe 'Don' and Generalfeldmarschall Ewald von Kleist’s Heeresgruppe 'A' (27 December 1942 onward).
