'Kreuzotter' (iii) was a German operation against non-communist resistance forces in the north-east of German-occupied Greece in the area bordering Bulgaria (5 July/25 August 1944).

This undertaking in the Parnon hills near Amfissa was directed against the EDES (Ethnikos Dimokratikos Ellinikos Syndesmos, or National Republican Greek League), and involved the 2/18th SS Polizei Gebirgsjägerregiment and 3/18th SS Polizei Gebirgsjägerregiment of Oberführer und Generalmajor der Waffen-SS Helmut Dörner’s (from 22 August SS-Brigadeführer und Generalmajor der Waffen-SS Fritz Schmedes’s) 4th SS Polizei Panzergrenadierdivision under the overall control of Generalleutnant Hubert Lanz’s XXII Gebirgskorps.

The operation was only moderately successful. EDES lost 298 dead and 260 taken prisoner, and the Germans 20 dead, 112 wounded and one missing.
