Operation Odin

(Germanic god)

'Odin' was the German codeword, analogous to 'Walküre' for commitment only within Germany, to trigger the launch of security measures for military establishments, key political and administrative buildings, bridges, communication equipment and other militarily vital components of German rule in Bohemia and Moravia (spring/summer 1944).

The codeword was issued in Prague on 20 July 1944 by the anti-Nazi General Ferdinand Schaal, the military commander in Bohemia and Moravia, at the time of the 'Bomb Plot' attempt to kill Adolf Hitler.
