'Quickfire' was a US deception plan, originally known as 'Padlock' and associated with 'Sweater', to cover the 'Torch' landing and based on the dissemination among the troops before their embarkation the 'information' that they were elements of an expeditionary force which was to occupy Syria and Cyprus (September 1942).
