'Seebär' was a German naval minelaying operation in the Kara Sea by Kapitänleutnant Hans Benker’s U-625 (7/20 August 1943).

The mines claimed one victim when, on 25 August, the 572-ton Soviet salvage vessel Shkval hit one of the 24 mines laid on 12 August and sank in the eastern part of the Yugorsky Strait, the narrows which separate the Kara Sea and Pechora Sea, with the loss of 47 of her 52-man crew.
