'Taifun' (iv) was a U-boat wolfpack operation in the Norwegian Sea (5/10 March 1944).

The wolfpack comprised U-278, U-737 and U-973, and for the loss of Oberleutnant Klaus Paepenmöller’s U-973 to a Fairey Swordfish aeroplane of the Fleet Air Arm’s No. 816 Squadron operating from the escort carrier Chaser to the north-west of Narvik in German-occupied Norway, sank no ship.
