Operation TMC

'TMC' was the designation of Allied military convoys (together with a numerical suffix), initiated as the 'ETC' series, plying the route from Thames river via St Helen’s Roads, Isle of Wight, to France (October/December 1944).

The first of these convoys was TCM.1 of 10/11 October with 12 merchant vessels including the 7,142-ton British Fort Rupert, 7,176-ton US Harry Lane, 5,072-ton British Lagarto, 1,536-ton Norwegian Libra, 5,000-ton British Rodsley and 7,194-ton US William Windom. The last was TM.59 of 7/8 December with the 1,289-ton Norwegian Jernland.
