Operation Traufe

'Traufe' was a German operation against the 26th 'Triglav' Division of Josip Broz Tito’s partisan forces in German-occupied Yugoslavia (13 November 1943).

The primary German forces committed to this offensive were the 132nd Grenadierregiment, 134th Grenadierregiment and 44th Aufklärungsabteilung of Generalleutnant Dr Franz Beyer’s 44th Reichsgrenadierdivision 'Hoch- und Deutschmeister', the Kampfgruppe 'Gervers' (parts of the 901st Panzergrenadier-Lehr-Regiment, 2/138th Gebirsgsjäger Reserve-Regiment, replacement battalion of Generalmajor Prof. Dr Oskar Ritter von Niedermayer’s 162nd Division [turkomanische], Gebirgsjägerbataillon 'Heine' and SS Kras Jägerbataillon), the 144th SS Polizeiregiment and the 19th SS Polizeiregiment.
