Operation Warheads

'Warheads' was the British sustained air offensive by Westland Whirlwind fighter-bombers of the RAF’s Nos 137 and 263 Squadrons to attack lines of communication and airfields in German-occupied north-west France in 'Rhubarb' sweeps as well as coastal shipping off the south coast of the English Channel in 'Roadstead' sweeps (June/August 1941).
