Operation Wrecker

'Wrecker' was an Allied convoy operation associated with 'Neptune' (iii) and 'Overlord' to move 22 coasters and colliers (three Dutch, four Norwegian and 15 British) from Barry in South Wales to St Helen’s Roads off the Isle of Wight (30 May/1 June 1944).

The Dutch ships were the 361-ton Erna, 897-ton Euterpe and 878-ton Starkenborgh, the Norwegian ships the 654-ton Edle, 995-ton Heien, 852-ton Skarv and 844-ton Valborg, and the British ships the 558-ton Bidassoa, 946-ton Cameo, 695-ton Crewhill, 646-ton Cushendun, 872-ton Empire Cape, 914-ton Fluor, 640-ton Gem, 297-ton Hawarden Bridge, 972-ton Lottie R, 1,372-ton Mari, 631-ton Moelfre Rose, 486-ton Rockleaze, 711-ton Sarnia, 926-ton The President and 632-ton Wallace Rose.
