Operation Dodworth

'Dodworth' was a British operation by the Special Operations Executive to attack the Orkla pyrites mine in German-occupied Norway (17 August/26 September 1944).

Delivered by air on 17 August to Stockholm in neutral Sweden, E. Sundseth then travelled to Norway to to reconnoitre the area in readiness to receive a party that would be sent in from the UK and returned on 6 September. On 26 September the Orkla attack was cancelled as a result of the strong defences and a change in the general situation.
