Operation EA

'EA' was a British unrealised naval undertaking by Admiral Sir John Tovey’s Home Fleet to lay a minefield off Fro Havet in German-occupied Norway (1/2 February 1941).

The mining was entrusted to the destroyer Intrepid, which was escorted by the light cruisers Arethusa and Aurora as well as the destroyers Matabele and Tartar, but the operation was cancelled after the ships had departed Scapa Flow in the Orkney islands group and run into notably severe weather.
