Operation FCP

'FCP' was the designation of Allied military convoys (together with a numerical suffix) carrying personnel from France to the south-west of England, and as such reciprocals of the 'ECP' series (June/July 1944).

The convoys were the personnel counterparts to the FCM vehicle and equipment convoys, and typical of this short series were FCP.15 of 2 July from the Seine Bay to Spithead with five British ships in the form of the 7,177-ton Empire Arquebus, 7,177-ton Empire Halberd, 7,177-ton Empire Mace, 10,852-ton Monowai and 3,791-ton commissioned landing ship Ulster Monarch, and FCP.17 of 3/4 July from the Seine Bay to Falmouth with the 4,136-ton commissioned landing ship Queen Emma.
