Operation Hemisphere

'Hemisphere' was a British attack by the Special Operations Executive on a herring oil plant at Øksfjord in the northern part of German-occupied Norway (8/15 April 1941).

Undertaken by 10 Norwegian marines and one SOE agent, the operation involved a seaborne landing, and was launched from British waters on 8 April 1941. The plant was completely destroyed and the raiders returned to the UK on 15 April.
