'Kurfürst' (iv) was a German cordon defence line in the Aunay region of occupied northern France between Touroudes and Hauts Vents designed to help SS-Oberstgruppenführer und Generaloberst der Waffen-SS Paul Hausser’s 7th Army check any Allied advance by Lieutenant General Sir Miles Dempsey’s British 2nd Army in the area of Caen in Normandy after 'Overlord' (July 1944).
