Operation MH (i)

'MH' (i) was a British naval operation in which ships patrolled off Boulogne to look for evacuees trying to escape France for the UK after the success of 'Sichelschnitt' (5/8 June 1940).

Operating from Dover, the ships and vessels involved were the destroyer Wanderer, armed yacht Gulzar, fishing vessels Ace, Bessie, Boy Fred, Jane Hannah, Narcissa and Rose, and motor boat Halcyone. This operation was intended to embark stragglers near Boulogne, but no Allied troops were located. The operation was repeated on the following night by the same forces, and only one British officer was picked up.
