'Orlog' was the German redeployment of the Junkers Ju 52/3m transport aircraft of Generaloberst Wolfram Freiherr von Richthofen’s Luftflotte IV for other tasks after their high-intensity commitment to the airlift operation which failed to prevent the surrender of Generalfeldmarschall Friedrich Paulus’s 6^th Army at Stalingrad (1/3 February 1943).
